Publisher: J.M. Dent, 1902 Description: Limited to 250 copies, this one numbered 122. Half-leather binding with marbled boards and endpapers, raised bands. Top edges gilt. Pagekeeper ribbons. Volume one has a few mild spine chips, and missing one raised band. Otherwise this set is completely lovely. Very slight toning on pages, all tissues intact. Colour Illustrations by C.E. and H.M. Brock. Set is unrestored. Bindings are tight, hinges are perfect.

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner!

 

 

Celebrate with Irish Soda Bread.
Easy - delicious - nutritious

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. caraway seeds (optional)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups lowfat buttermilk

Directions:
1) Spray an 8 or 9 inch round cake pan with vegetable cooking spray

2) Combine all dry ingredients in large bowl, stir to coat raisins thoroughly

3) Add buttermilk, stir until well-mixed and soft dough forms

4) Turn out of bowl onto floured surface

5) Knead dough just a few times until it all holds together

6) Pat dough into prepared pan - not all the way to the edge

7) Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until a toothpick comes out
clean - bread should be golden

8) Let cool in pan 5 minutes, loosen underneath with a knife, then cool bread on a rack for 10 or 15 minutes.

Really wonderful served warm!
